Internet Week New York (@internetweek, #inwny) for internet entrepreneurs is the equivalent of Fashion Week for fashion mavens. Unofficially referred to as "Geek Week", Internet Week is a week-long celebration (June 6-13) of all things tech, social and entrepreneurial online in the New York community -- a time for the brave souls building businesses online to meet, greet and get to know each other, their supporters, members of the New York business community and the media (see video below).
We are proud to announce that, in partnership with Internet Week (sponsored by Yahoo!), Boysdancetoo.com (@boysdancetoo) is hosting an amazing event for the dance and tech community that we hope you can attend.
On Thursday, June 9th (8PM-10PM), we will be hosting an interactive panel called "Dance Entrepreneurs and the Digital Revolution: Can Dancers Make Moves and Killer Startups?".
This special panel will get at the heart of why the dance industry (bubbling over with underused talented dancers) appears to be missing out on huge entrepreneurial opportunities in digital media and what can be done about it. It is our hope that, through rigorous debate with dance industry leaders, dancers, choreographers and investors, the revelations from this event will be both enlightening and empowering for the dance community. Even if you can't attend the event, you can follow LIVE updates during the event in social media on Twitter (hashtag #boysdancetoo) and Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/boysdancetoo).
We have a panel full of incredibly talented, accomplished dancers who are all successful entrepreneurs -- and we look forward to hearing how they did it! If you're an aspiring dance entrepreneur (or know of one), share your story with us below in the comments section! We'd like to hear your experience. Share the invite with the dancers or choreographer in your life.
